Voyages Immobiles is a compilation of four tracks that SUPER ALONE aka Robin Nitram performed over four pictures. His idea was te be able, despite the lockdown due to the covid-19 pandemic, to travel without moving (hence Voyage Immobile in french).
With a combination of a picture and an improvised soundscape mostly made with an electric guitar and electronic devices, SUPER ALONE takes you far away from your daily quarantine life.
Each song has its own story. Robin unveils them herebelow:
"[A Simple Pleasure] is a soundscape I recorded sometime ago while I was playing some ambient-synth kind of vibes. The photo was taken by my friend themosp (a Paris-based photographer). I was actually looking for a photo to associate with my soundscape when I found out this amazing shot. I thought that the ambience of the song matched perfectly the kindred tones of this picture."
"[Koh Chang] is an Island in Thailand. When I first decided to start the "Voyage Immobile" project, François (the one who took this picture) sent me this picture of one of his friends hanging on the beach looking at the horizon. I was immediately inspired to perform an improvised soundscape based on the mysterious sight of this picture."
"[Ricefields & Motorbikes] comes from Viet Nam. My favorite destination in the world. The picture was sent to me by my dear friends John and Cùc from a little village in North Viet Nam called Ta Van. I was lucky enough to go there twice in my life and to enjoy the lifestyle of the vietnamese people. The track was recorded months after being there but still, it reminds me of each moment, each smell and each color of this wonderful place."
"[Doubtful Sound] is an improvised soundscape that came to me when I received the picture of the "sound of silence" which is a fiord in New Zealand. The photo was taken by Ianjek (a traveling photographer). Obscurity then light. Strong wind then deep calm. You can experiment a lot of different types of weather up there. And so you will while listening to this track."
